Butler Common Council

The Common Council, also known as the City Council, is the elected legislative body of the City of Butler. The Council hears and passes ordinances that become law. The Council often initiates local improvement projects and is responsible for allocating funds through the budget approval process.

The Council meets the first and third Monday of each month, 7:00 PM, in the Council Chamber of the Butler City Hall, 215 South Broadway, Butler, IN 46721.

Butler is divided into four council districts.  Each district is represented by one member.  A Council-at-Large position covers the entire City of Butler.  A map depicting the council districts is below:
