RECYCLING PICKUP IS EVERY OTHER WEDNESDAY
GFL Environmental is the recycling contractor for the City of Butler. Contact Butler Utility office if your recycling is not emptied or your bin is broken. Recycling is to be out for pick-up no later than 7 a.m. on the appropriate Wednesday.
A recycling drop-off site is located on the south side of the 100 block of Depot Street just west of the Butler Street Department buildings
THE FOLLOWING ITEMS CAN BE PUT IN THE RECYCLING BINS:
- Glass (brown, clear, green or blue)
- Telephone books
- Junk mail
- Pie pans
- Corrugated cardboard
- Steel food cans
- Newspapers/magazines
- Snack/cereal boxes
- Aluminum cans
- Catalogs
- Shredded paper
- Clean aluminum foil
- Plastics (Must have the symbol with the number 1 through 7 inside it)
SERVICES
The City of Butler has a contract with GFL Environmental for residential recycling collection. Commercial and industrial businesses and apartment complexes in Butler are responsible for their own collection arrangements.
The Northeast Indiana Solid Waste Management District (NISWMD) provides solid waste reduction services and programs to residents in DeKalb county. HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
Hazardous materials such as tires, motor oil, batteries, stains and thinners should not be included with residential garbage.
