The Legionnaires of Post 202 are dedicated to preserving the Memories and Incidents of our Great Wars. Each Legion member has taken an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies foreign and domestic, and we take that oath seriously! We further believe that it is our duty to support our Community and Nation in any way we can.
Butler Heartland Show & Festival
The Butler Heartland Show & Festival is held each year. This year's date to be announced
The Farmer’s Market begins on the same weekend as the Butler Heartland Show & Festival, and continues every Friday, 3 pm to 7 pm, through October 31st.
Butler Early Education Center
Started in September of 1985, the Butler Early Education Center is a licensed center nurturing the infant to the 12-year old. Programs include the Summer Fun Program, School Age Program, and a Nursery School Program. For those who qualify, the center participates in State subsidized childcare assistance programs. The Library is located at 340 S. Broadway. The Library has publications, periodicals, videos, and DVDs. More information is available on the Library's website.
The City of Butler is part of the DeKalb County Eastern School District. Butler Elementary School and Eastside Jr. - Sr. High School are located in Butler. Eastside Area Community Foundation, Inc.
The Eastside Area Community Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to improving the quality of like in the eastern side of DeKalb County, Indiana. For twenty years the Foundation has participated in awarding scholarships to our children and participating in various community projects throughout the Eastern side of DeKalb County. The Filling Station Youth Center is located at 315 South Federal Street, Butler. Children 5 and over are welcome at the Youth Center. Current hours of operation are Tuesdays and Thursdays 4 - 6 PM and Fridays 7 -10 PM. The Center has a BMX bike course, basketball, roller skating, billiards, volleyball, foosball, air-hockey, ski-ball, board games, and pinball.
The Center is staffed entirely by volunteers and funded through grants and business donations.
