Plan Commission

The City of Butler Plan Commission is responsible for guiding the growth and development of Butler.

The Plan Commission makes recommendations to the City Council regarding the adoption of, and amendments to:

  • The Butler Comprehensive Plan.
  • The Butler Zoning Ordinance.
  • The Butler Subdivision Ordinance.
  • The Butler Zoning Map.

The Plan Commission has sole authority for reviewing and approving development plans and new subdivisions, with input from the Board of Public Works and Safety, City departments, and other relevant County and governmental entities.

The members of the City of Butler Plan Commission for the calendar year 2012 are as follows:

  • Tammy Davis, Common Council Appointee and Current President
  • Ford Hudson, Mayor Appointee and Current Vice-President
  • Larry Moore, Common Council Appointee
  • Jerry Eldridge, Common Council Appointee
  • Sandy Lechleidner, DeKalb County Appointee for the Extra-Territorial Jurisdiction
  • Kent Likes, Mayoral Appointee
  • Stephanie Rohm, Mayoral Appointee
  • Anita Shultz, Mayoral Appointee
  • Larry Moughler, DeKalb County Plan Commission Representative (non-voting member)

Regular meetings of the Butler Plan Commission are held on the second Monday of January, March, May, July, September, and November.  The meetings are held in the Council Chamber of the Butler City Hall, 120 West Main Street, Butler, at 6:30 PM.
